The Mane of a Pure Spanish horse from Spain

One thing that contributes to the overall beauty of a Pure Spanish horse from Spain - or from wherever he was bred - is a long, thick mane. It can be silky smooth, or rougher and voluminous. People plait the manes - braid them as the Americans say - in various ways. For working, long plaits keep the hair out of the rider's way. That's what you see on Realejo's first page.

Take a look at the longest mane I have ever seen on a PRE - Andalusian. Everyone who has seen the photo - literally thousands of people - agrees that this is the ultimmate example of an Andalusian horse with a long mane.
