Cremello Lusitano

Cremello Lusitano - PSL
Cremello is a color found in the Lusitano horses of Portugal. External indications are the cream color of the coat, the pink muzzle, and blue or green eyes. Genetical tests can be done for the presence of the double dilute gene.
The University of California, Davis, in the United States is well known for its work in this field. It can conduct cremello color tests using hair pulled from the mane or tail. In Spain, testing is done using blood samples.
Genetic testing for cremello color in Spain and Portugal is not as common as in other countries - in general, people aren't looking to breed for the color, rather for the horse. Be aware of this if you are looking at advertisements for cremello Andalusians or half-andalusians for sale in Spain and Portugal. Strictly speaking, any horses that are not color tested should be described as 'cremello colored'.
